normally when you want to create a Job for an SSIS package
you simply go to the Management Studio -> SQL Server Agent -> Jobs
and upon adding a 'step type' you can simply use the drop-down, and
select: SQL Server Integration Services Package.

why would this not be visible in the drop down if i already have BIDS
installed?

am i missing something?

Confused

So unnecessarily complex - so much so that I created a three-part series on it here: http://www.learnintegrationservices.com/VideoTutorials/SSIS-Tutorials/197/Series-3-videos-How-to-Schedule-An-SSIS-Package-To-Run.aspx

yes... they are good, but while following along i still get to the part where you can see the drop down, but in
my case whenever i create a job step, and select 'type' the option the SQL Server Integration Services is not available.

the only difference that i can see is that from the Client the option is available,
but not so on the server. the server has the more current version.

Server Info:
SQL Server 2005 (SP2)
9.00.3042.00
Enterprise Edition (64-bit)

Client Info:
SQL Server 2005 (SP1)
9.00.2047.00
Developer Edition (32-bit)

here's the interesting part....

how do i get it to work on the server? it's a tough one cause the Server version is
more current.

any ideas?
