dear sir Scott,
i would like yo know answer of this question " i want to migrate the DTS Package 2000 to SSIS 2005"
i know the how to do migration what to do what kind of problems might occurs.
i have already videos and i have seen all of them.
But the question that is very crucial and considerable "how we will know which package is better to migrate.
which package is better to create in the SSIS 2005 instead of migrating from dts 2000"
Is there any way any clue any key by which we can understand and implement ?
Please, let me know because wherever you have lots of dts packages how you will know which package is
better to create in ssis 2005 than migrate from dts 2000.
Is there any concept with the various tasks which are available in dts 2000 but not in ssis 2005?
where we should create the package instead of migrating from the dts 2000.

please let me know a better way to deal with this.
Because i am facing the same kind of problem its urgent please let me know ASAP

thank you Sir(Scott)

hi dibyant -

There is one and only one way to know for sure - try it, see if it works, learn what works and what doesn't, and then do whatever you have to do. I don't know of anything else I can expound on; DTS to SSIS mapping is tough and, the more you know about what doesn't work, the better position you are in to gauge what will work. Nothing can teach you "what works/fails" better than try/fail/succeed IMO.
