My SAN administrator has asked me to move all of the system databases and user databases on our SQL Server 2000 servers as a part of a SAN reallocation. I've moved user databases, but I'm not so sure about moving master, model, msdb, tempdb, and distribution.

I have two questions:

1) Is it possible to do so and, if so, 2) What is involved in making such a move (especially moving the 'master' database)?

Best Regards,
Moishe

1) Yes

2) I recorded a video on it actually: How to change the master database's file location

To move the other dbs, read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/224071
