Edition Change Check

To change an existing instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 to a different edition of SQL Server 2005, you must run SQL Server 2005 Setup from the command prompt and include the SKUUPGRADE=1 parameter.

thanks

I hate the installer for SQL 2005 - it just sucks so bad.

My guess is that you have a later-than-SP1 version of SQL Server 2005 installed and then you are trying to install a new component from a CD/DVD (which doesn't have SP1+ on it). It's a bad error message; it should say, "The media you are installing from contains an older version of SQL Server 2005 than you currently have installed. Do you want to continue?"

I need more info: what are you trying to do? Is SSIS already installed?
