Hi Scott,
i m facing a big issue when i generate my report which has 40k rows and around 15 columns mostly strings i come up with a strange
result that i get excel report of 30MB which takes couple of minutes to open which is a big issue with Clients.
But when i manually open and re-save this gets compressed and become 14 mb reports which is pretty good and open quickly.
Since i have a lots of reports and i cant open and resave all of them.
I am using subscription to generate report and render into excel.

Any help how we can compressed the report or correct that so that we can reduce the size(the reason behind that is excel uses single byte for strings as defaults and compress whenever needs But ssrs uses UNICODE Double byte as a default, except that i have no knowledge and i dont even know but got some information from msdn).
Scott any help regarding this will be highly appreciated

Thanks
Scott Whigham

Offhand, I can't think of what you would do. I could dig down into the details and figure it out but it would take me 1/2 day probably Frown And I am trying to finish a five month long project now (that I thought would take 3 months!). I'm sorry but I can't help quickly here Frown
