SSIS to MS Excel Data Flow Options

Where do you live?: Lewisville, TX
 I am creating data flows to an excel worksheet, but the numbers are being dumped in as text. I have tried using the data conversion tool to make sure they are numeric, but it just takes that information and makes it text. How can I change this behavior? Confused
